Frequently Asked Questions
TimberTech offers high-performance decking in both Advanced PVC and composite materials. TimberTech Advanced PVC decking, historically associated with the AZEK name, contains no wood fibers and is designed for exceptional moisture resistance and low maintenance. TimberTech also offers capped composite decking in a range of styles, colors, and price points.
TimberTech Advanced PVC decking is made without wood fibers, providing very high resistance to moisture while offering premium wood-inspired designs. TimberTech composite decking combines engineered materials with protective polymer capping and is available across several performance and price levels. Architectural Windows, Door & Decking can help you compare collections based on appearance, budget, location, and performance needs.
Yes. TimberTech decking is designed to require considerably less routine maintenance than traditional wood decking. It does not require the regular sanding, staining, or sealing typically associated with a wood deck. Routine cleaning is still recommended to keep the surface looking its best.
TimberTech decking is designed with realistic grain patterns, color variation, and finishes inspired by natural hardwoods. Different collections offer everything from traditional wood tones to contemporary grays and richly blended colors, allowing homeowners to achieve a wood-inspired appearance without the maintenance requirements of traditional lumber.
Warranty coverage depends on the TimberTech collection selected. TimberTech Advanced PVC collections currently include a Limited Lifetime Product Warranty and a 50-Year Limited Fade & Stain Warranty for qualifying residential applications. TimberTech composite collections generally offer 25- or 30-year limited product and fade-and-stain warranties depending on the collection. Ask Architectural Windows, Door & Decking about the warranty terms for the specific product you are considering.
Yes. A new entryway can noticeably improve curb appeal and the perceived value of a home, since the front door is one of the first things people see. A well-chosen entry door can also add security and energy efficiency.
Like all decking materials, TimberTech decking can become warm or hot when exposed to direct sunlight. Color makes a difference, with darker boards generally becoming warmer than lighter colors. Certain TimberTech Advanced PVC products are designed to stay cooler than many competitive composite decking products, but homeowners should still consider sun exposure and color when selecting a deck board.
TimberTech offers a broad range of wood-inspired colors, grain patterns, and collections in both Advanced PVC and composite decking. Options range from understated traditional tones to premium hardwood-inspired finishes. Architectural Windows, Door & Decking can help you compare available colors and provide decking samples so you can see how your preferred options look alongside your home’s exterior.
Yes. Architectural Windows, Door & Decking offers TimberTech decking samples so you can compare colors, textures, and finishes before making your final selection. Seeing physical samples outdoors at your home can be especially helpful because decking colors may appear different depending on natural light and surrounding exterior materials.
